Shane Ohly is a former professional climber and current elite mountain runner and someone who has a lifelong passion for adventures in the mountains and the outdoors.


During the early 2000’s Shane made a transition from a sporting life focused on climbing, to one focused on mountain running. His running passion is definitely mountain marathons and he competes at an elite level. However, he is easily distracted by any running challenge and finds the lure of racing, whether along the road, through the woods or up a mountain almost irresistible. Career highlights include:

During the 1990's Shane developed a reputation for bold ascents and repeats, including many first ascents. He specialised in free solo climbing (no ropes) and climbed professionally through product endorsement and sponsorship. Climbing has been an important theme throughout his life and he continues to climb at a high standard today whilst enjoying many international climbing adventures. Career highlights include:
