Shane Ohly
Shane Ohly is a Mountain Leader (ML) and Winter Mountain Leader (WML). Since being introduced to the outdoors at school, he has become an elite level mountain runner who enjoys all aspects of being in the mountains... whatever the weather and especially at night! Shane's approach to teaching and leading in the mountains combines traditional navigation with more intuitive orienteering skills. His work as the principal race organiser for Ourea Events gives him unique experience. Find out more about Shane's mountain running adventures and race results.

Heather Ohly
Heather Ohly is a Mountain Leader (ML) and International Mountain Leader (IML). She has been walking, trekking, running, climbing and mountaineering for 20 years. Her enjoyment of the mountain environment is infectious, whether leading steady walkers/runners who just want to enjoy the scenery, or those with ambitions to increase their own skills and confidence. She regularly competes in Lake District fell races, mountain marathons and occasionally international races too. Heather is also a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) and she is happy to share her nutrition knowledge along the way!

Shane and Heather have completed several multi-day walking and running adventures together, and you can read about their 15 day completion of the Cape Wrath Trail. Both are able to provide expert advice on lightweight strategies, equipment, clothing and food.

As regular event organisers and competitors, Shane and Heather can offer bespoke training using historical race maps. There is no better way to prepare for your next event!
