Ourea Events
I am the founder of Ourea Events and work as the Race Director at each of our races. Ourea Events is widely recognised as the gold standard event operator within our sector and this is evidenced by our superb international reputation, awards and accolades.
Our challenging events ask a lot of the participants, but I ask an equal amount from myself and my team in terms of attention to detail, meticulous planning and bulletproof organisation. We have a global reputation for excellence and our events include:
Climbing
During the 1990s I developed a reputation for bold ascents and repeats, including many first ascents. I specialised in free solo climbing (no ropes) and climbed professionally through product endorsement and sponsorship. Climbing has been an important theme throughout my life and I continue to climb at a high standard today whilst enjoying many international climbing adventures.
Running
During the early 2000s I made a transition from a sporting life focused on climbing, to one focused on mountain running. For many years my focus has definitely been mountain marathons and I have competed at an elite level. I love types of running challenges and find the lure of racing, whether along the road, through the woods or up a mountain almost irresistible.
